Traditionally favours were composed of 5 sugared almonds representing 'Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life and Fertility'. They would be wrapped in a tulle netting and be given to female guests as a token of goodwill. As time has progressed favours have become an intergral part of a wedding and are now any gifts that are given to both men and women.
